I've been rereading some books I was forced to read in school, too. Turns out I like a lot more of them now as an adult 😂 I wish I'd read The Outsiders in school. I love it now and collect different editions of it, but it would have been life-changing to read when I was Ponyboy's age.

I read it in college. I would have been insufferable if I discovered Outsiders at 14, I fear

For me, it was The Picture of Dorian Gray sophomore year. Changed my life. I know you aren’t a fan of it though.

Gatsby will always be one of the best American classics.

Also, of the 4 Shakespeare books I read, Macbeth was far and away my favorite.

Macbeth is def the winner. If you have never seen the movie adaptation “Scottland, PA” I highly suggest it!!

My mum read Judy Blume when she was a preteen and I read Judy Blume when I was a preteen and when I taught year 6, it was lovely to see that 12 year olds are still reading Judy Blume!!!!

I spent months in high school writing a report on Flowers for Algernon, and I still think about that book even now. Rip Algernon.
